چکیده

Introduction A number of authors have investigated associations between MR vascular parameters and traditional histopathological prognostic markers. Results have varied with some studies revealing correlations while others have failed to find any associations. The aim of this work was to determine if there were any associations not only between pretreatment MR derived vascular parameters and histopathological prognostic markers but also between MR determined shape and texture parameters with traditional prognostic indicators obtained from pre-treatment biopsies.

Comparing PET metabolic parameters with clinicopathological factors in predicting onset of early recurrence in recently diagnosed hepatocellular carcinoma

Introduction: Early recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major risk factor affecting survival even after hepatectomy. Many clinical, biochemical parameters and pathological grading like fibrosis 1 index have been used for risk stratifying HCC. However not many studies have combined all of them. It is therefore important to risk stratify HCC especially with newer PE...

Prognostic significance of morphometric parameters of nucleoli and nuclei of invasive ductal breast carcinomas.

The aim of this study was to evaluate associations between seven morphometric parameters of the nucleoli and nuclei of methyl green and pyronin Y (MG-PY) stained tumour cells of invasive ductal breast carcinoma with relapse-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) time. Histological sections from 150 invasive ductal breast cancers were stained with MG-PY and the following parameters were e...

Correlation between High Resolution Dynamic MR Features and Prognostic Factors in Breast Cancer

OBJECTIVE To correlate high resolution dynamic MR features with prognostic factors in breast cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred and ninety-four women with invasive ductal carcinomas underwent dynamic MR imaging using T1-weighted three-dimensional fast low-angle shot (3D-FLASH) sequence within two weeks prior to surgery. Morphological and kinetic MR features were determined based on the...

Correlation of Hormone Receptor Expression with Histologic Parameters in Benign and Malignant Breast Tumors

Background and Objective: Breast cancer is the commonest cancer of Indian women. Estrogen and Progesterone expression is seen in benign breast lesions and in breast carcinoma associated with good prognostic parameters and it correlates well with response to hormone therapy. Although a lot of studies have been conducted in the past on hormone receptor expression in breast cancer and few have cor...

MRI texture analysis in differentiating luminal A and luminal B breast cancer molecular subtypes - a feasibility study

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to use texture analysis (TA) of breast magnetic resonance (MR) images to assist in differentiating estrogen receptor (ER) positive breast cancer molecular subtypes. METHODS Twenty-seven patients with histopathologically proven invasive ductal breast cancer were selected in preliminary study. Tumors were classified into molecular subtypes: luminal A (ER-pos...
